Why I Choose Shark Over Dyson – My Go-To Cleaning Tools

Dyson might have a cult following — and I’ve definitely fallen for the hype before — but I always come back to Shark. Shark delivers the same power, better practicality, and affordable cleaning tools that actually fit real life : pets, kids, chaos… you get it.
These are the Shark cleaning tools I use weekly — sometimes daily — and they’ve never let me down. If you’re on the fence between Dyson and Shark, here’s why I’m team Shark.
🧼 1. Shark Upright Vacuum
This is lighter than the Dyson so it's easy to carry up and down the stairs. The dust canister isn't placed near the handle like other brands and models, so it's easier to maneuver with less strain on your wrist. It's easy to empty and clean and has settings that actually work for hardwoods and carpet- The is my go-to for floor cleaning days.
🧹 2. Shark Cordless Vacuum
Lightweight, easy to grab, and perfect for daily messes. I keep this near my kitchen and use this during my daily clean for kitchen and dining areas or any visible pet hair. This is also perfect for the kids to use for chores because it's so lightweight. It's also a 2:1 with a detachable handheld vac to use for furniture, the car, stairs. The battery lasts, it charges quickly. Honestly if you had to pick one product from this list- THIS would be it!
🧽 3. Shark Carpet Spot Cleaner
If you have a pet, you need this. I could end the caption here! This thing has saved more than one rug around here with a 7 month Golden Retriever! It’s super easy to use and clean and you can refill it with any solution- I use Amazon Basics. Since this is so compact, it also works great on furniture upholstery and vehicles.
💨 4. Shark Steam Mop
If you haven’t tried steam cleaning your floors yet — consider this your sign. It uses only water (no chemicals!) and leaves everything feeling truly clean. With so much hardwood in our house, Swiffering the entire space used to take forever. Now I save the Swiffer for quick touch-ups and pull out my Steam Mop for main floor cleaning days. It comes with a reusable pad, but I ordered a few extras (here) on Amazon so I always have a clean one ready — especially for the extra messy weeks.
I know there are a ton of cleaning tools out there, but these are the ones I actually use and love. Shark has made keeping my home clean easier and way more affordable — and I’m all for that.
